1 km after leaving the SP234, take the path that goes down to the left, marked with a yellow and black sign “Percorso alternativi pellegrini” (Alternative pilgrim rout). After 500m, at the crossroads go right; you leave the Oratory of the Beata Vergine di Caravaggio on the right and continue until you find the asphalt, in Via della Madonnina.
Always straight, continuing on Via Chiesa.
At the stop sign, turn right and at the roundabout go left on Via Pio Rossi. The road becomes a comfortable cycle path, further ahead tree-lined, which as often happens requires several changes of side. Follow it for 4 km until Senna Lodigiana, to a car park with a stop sign. Here, continue to the right, always on the cycle path. After 300m, turn left on Via Verdi, straight for 400m until you find the SP126 and a cycle path parallel to it. Go right, until the cemetery, where you need to cross the road to take the cycle path that leads to the left in the direction of Codogno-Somaglia.
After the traffic lights in Somaglia, at the fork, change sides of the cycle path again and go left; after 250m, go back to the right side, always straight until a roundabout. You pass in front of a furniture store, in its parking area, and 100m of provincial road to immediately get back on the cycle path on the right side. After less than 3km, you pass under the Via Emilia and, after crossing the next road, take the cycle path to the right, in the locality of Mirandola.
After 1km, you come across an ENI station that you leave on the left to turn right entering Fombio. After 3km, you come across a roundabout. Here you need to turn 360° passing under the Via Emilia, still on the cycle path. A little further on, take Via Roma to the left, which leads to Guardamiglio. After 1km, you are in the town square. Go right into Via Umberto I, towards Valloria; then, to leave the town, in 600m turn, in sequence: left into Via Manzoni, right again into Via Manzoni, at the church left into Via Verdi, further ahead right into Via Garibaldi and finally left into Via Mezzadri.
At the cemetery fork, continue straight, leaving the main road that bends to the left. 900m further ahead, at the fork, go left, starting the “Ciclovia del Po”. Follow it for 6 km, passing San Rocco al Porto and the countryside often populated by herons and egrets. After crossing the Po, almost at the end of the bridge, on the left there is a passage in the metal barrier that goes down to the river. Here, with the river in front of you, take the asphalt road that goes up to the left and runs alongside it. Further ahead, the road we are taking is marked as “Percorso cicloturistico – Via Po”. Continue for 5 km in full view among meadows, crops and the river. You reach a crossroads, near a beautiful Sanctuary (Maria del Suffragio dei poveri), where you go right. 500m further on you leave the Via del Po, which would continue straight, to go left, on the highway overpass. After this, continue to the left and immediately after to the right, crossing a small wooden bridge over the “Canale della Fame”. After 200m you pass under the railway and at the next crossroads, on the Via Emilia, in the locality of San Antonio a Trebbia, you go right. After 1km you go over the bridge over the Trebbia river after which you change side of the cycle path from left to right crossing an often very busy Via Emilia. Pay attention. Once you pass under the railway bridge again, turn immediately left towards the industrial area. After 300m, turn left onto Via Bonina Est. Continue straight for less than 6 km until you reach the municipality of Santimento, where you rejoin the Cammino walking trail.
