The territorial corridor of reference is traced between the sixth and seventh centuries by the monk Columbanus, born in Leinster (Republic of Ireland) in 540 AD, who carried out his monastic function in Bangor (Northern Ireland, United Kingdom). It extends across eight European states: the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy.
The following can be members of the Association, subject to authorization from the Coordination Committee:
The following membership categories are foreseen:
The Coordination Committee may admit to membership of the Association as “Supporters” all those (public, private or mixed public-private organizations, educational institutions, private citizens, etc.) who, despite not being located along the territorial corridor, are in related to it in some way through memory or some connection with the figure of Saint Columban and wish to participate and support the Association’s projects.
To become a member, it is necessary to apply in writing to the Association’s headquarters; the application must indicate the reasons for and the declaration of sharing the aims of the Association.
The Coordination Committee decides admission to membership at the first available meeting.
